Pictured below are the 15 children who attended school every day this school year – a great achievement. Well done!

As part of our local history today we looked up the 1901 and 1911 census for Waterston House. We found it very interesting to see records of who was in the house on the nights of the census. It brought the story of the Harris Temple family to life to see real records of their existance in Waterston. Follow the links:

Junior and Senior Infants went on their annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic on Tuesday.
Our art teacher Eithne Gallagher gave us a most interesting talk about the stained glass windows that she designed for the church in Tubberclair back in 1999. We were interested to learn of the significance of each little detail in the windows – all of which are linked to the history of our parish.

Stephen attended the launch of the ‘Write a Poem’ book last night. His poem ’2040′ is published in this book. Well done Stephen!!

The children’s favourite day of the school year, Fun Day, took place last Friday, 11th June. A jumble sale (toys, games, books), cake sale, raffle, no uniform day and a wide range of activities organised by the children kept everybody busy from early morning til evening. Considering all items and activities were just 20 cent, a total of €1370 was a fantastic effort. This year the proceeds are going to a very worthy cause – the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
